A brakes failure led to a charge of Driving Without Due Care and Attention

Our client’s car suffered a brakes failure. She was charged with driving without due care and attention and subsequently offered, as an alternative to court proceedings, a drivers awareness course. She strenuously denied any fault of her own in how she had responded when the brakes failed, and refused the offer of a drivers awareness course. The case therefore went to trial in the magistrates court.

Trafficked into the UK and forced to work in a cannabis farm
